The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience that should be enjoyed by everyone.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's first bicycle tunnel, was opened as part of Jerusalem Ring Path.  נווה פריצקי This 42-kilometer cycling route surrounds Jerusalem.

The tunnel connects Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. The tunnel's southern entry point is located within Refaim Park below Ein Laban. While the northern entrance is located in Nahal Ein Kerem about half a km from the Kerem junction.

The 2.1-kilometers-long tunnel project was officially inaugurated in a ceremony on Thursday attended by Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze'ev Elkin Mayor Moshe Lion, Gihon water company chairman Avi Baleshnikov as well as hundreds of cyclists.

Elkin's Ministry Elkin's Ministry Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality, and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.

Elkin stressed, "The Kerem Tunnel project will be a central instrument for achieving our dream to change the concept transportation throughout Jerusalem." The Kerem Tunnel first was excavated in the 90s to move a main sewer line for the Gihon Corporation towards Sorek. It is now being used as an infrastructure Tunnel which includes the fifth waterline that runs to Jerusalem from the Mekorot water corporation.

Road construction installation, blowers, modern safety systems and electrical wiring are all part and parcel of the present construction. The tunnel will be safe for the public to use throughout the season.

Kerem Tunnel Kerem Tunnel allows for access to unique recreational areas, such as Ein Kerem, a neighborhood which includes a Biblical aquarium and zoo, as well as historic natural springs Ein Haniyeh and Ein Laban.
